Just a simple Q? How would you remove the buddies on the next rebuild...seemed to go in rather forced??

It would seem that they would need to be removed to remove nut and cotter pin.

Anyway...not needing to now..but just in case...how do you take them off....sure would hate to mess up the nice chrome finish with vise grips...??

Thx

Re: Bearing Buddies

Take a block of wood and hammer, alternate tapping on opposite sides to "walk" it out. Thats how their website recommends it be done. Tap a block of wood on the end to reinstall it.

Keep away from using the vice grips or pipe wrenches. Like said above, piece of wood works well or a rubber faced, leather faced or small dead blow plastic faced mallet work great. Bit by bit is the secret.

When installing, remove all grease from the mating surfaces. You want a tight (friction) fit that won't come undone the first bump you hit. BTDT.
