I posted this a long time ago and it's always a good tale.

We were putting in at Sandy Point State Park in Md.
We had put in and was watching a couple try to retrieve their boat.
The guy was in the boat and the wife in the truck, the window open and the rear slider open too..
He was shouting directions as she tried (no luck) to back the trailer down the ramp.
He was gonna power load. She was trying again and again.
He was getting louder and more frustrated as she kept failing.
Then he starts swearing and says.
You dumb B(*&% I said turn the other way.

The stop lights come on and you can see she shifts from reverse into drive.
Then pulls away leaving Mr. nasty mouth floating in the ramp.
She leaves the area.
We come back about 5-6 hours later and he's still tied to the dock.
Be nice!!

My wife and I fight at times .........but if that word came out of my mouth towards her, she would have backed the trailer into the hull, sunk the boat, and then left........

When I'm frustrated with her, I shut my mouth - silence can be deafening and so can her nagging you if you open your trap.

Re: Be nice!!!

The Admiral is very patient with me, and is probably a better overall driver than me. However even though she drove tractor trailers in the Army during Desert Storm, she isn't very good at backing our trailers down the ramp. She wants to get better, and backing an unloaded trailer is much harder than it seems. I just have to figure out a way to get her some practice time with our tandem 25' trailer without the boat on it. For all you impatient husbands or boyfriends out there you should go fetch the truck yourself if you can't treat your admirals any better than to rake them over the coals. Just my .02 cents.:D

I do. I actually try and do most everything (the German in me). She helps with the cover and occasionally steers when I use the head and tie up.

It's taken 13 years of marriage (longer than some, less than most I know) to realize that raking your spouse over the coals gets you burnt the most. Sometimes I slip though.....thank goodness I have a boat to jump in the water and cool off.
