We were out on the lake and I first noticed that we were having troulbe planing, then once going, the boat started losing power, then sputtering (as if water may be in the gas), also some vibration. We shut the boat off and when we restarted and attempted to put in gear, the boat would just shut off. We finally wore the starter out and had to be towed. Upon trailering the boat, noticed the prop was bent, although we did not feel anything. We just brought it home and haven't made any attempts at repairs as of yet. Any ideas what to expect from the mechanic?

My guess is you bent the prop getting off or on the trailer.More likely a motor problem probably unrelated. My guess is a fuel supply problem possibly as simple as a bad fuel pump. hope you only killed the battery not ruined the starter.
