:confused:The bilge pump in my 2005 175 Bayliner isn't working(not the fuse). Any suggestions? How difficult to replace?

Re: bayliner 17.5 bilge pump

Welcome to iboats.....:)
Not a engine question.....;)
But....
I would find out where it is connected & test it with 12v, or start poking around with a volt/ohm meter......
Test the switch etc......
Some pumps are e asy to get at......
Some not.....;)

Re: bayliner 17.5 bilge pump

Ayuh,...

This should be asked in the General Boating forum, Not the Motors, I/O forum....
And,..
As noted by Haut,...
It's usually a question of how hard it is to get a hand on it, rather than how hard the repair is....
It depends entirely on how your boat was put together...

Re: bayliner 17.5 bilge pump

Bayliner builds a box around the floor. Hard to get to.

Maybe it's stuck up with gunk and the impeller can't turn.

If you can reach it the top should come off.

Screw off usually left.

Most are screwed to a plate that is in turn glued to the floor.

They can be yanked off the screw.

However i didn't see where you tested the switch?

Behind the fuse holder a wire come off?

Maybe you added something like a fishfinder and it yanked off.
