Bay / extension kit

So I have a 25" transom and need a xtra long shaft .
Standard long shaft is 20" i believe? What are the + - of the
extension kits? recommended or not? Looking at re powering with
new because used 25" shafts are harder to find ? Especially with
a mid to upper mid ranged O/B( 60 -90).. Could save a bunch of $Duckets
going used and modifying ?

I've never heard or seen anything bad about Bay.

I just purchased one for my Yamaha T8, to extend it 5 inches. I have yet to receive it, but it should work great! It comes with everything needed (at least for this motor). The only thing I'll have to "add" is a coating of paint so that it matches the motor... Apparently some of the Bay kits for larger motors will require some drilling/reaming of the mid section of the motor in order to accomodate the drive shaft extension. Call the Bay Kit folks and they will answer any questions!
