Im purchasing my first boat later this yr..i definetly want a big boat 21-26 ft that can fish quite a few people but is able to fish the flats in the gulf of mexico...roughly 3-4 ft and also be able to do offshore fishing. Looked at the fishmaster and hydra sport bay boats. i read about the twin vees, they seem versatile. any info on any of these type of boats or a good center console that provides a lot of room and able to do both type of fishing....would be appreciated...thanks

zeppellin,

I owned a bay boat, never again. It would hurt you in a one foot chop not to mention get you awfully wet.

A light center console with some degree of deadrise is a better choice, IMHO.

Prolines are good boats but mine beat the hell of me in the sound and gulf. By all means take a ride in one before purchase. Have found that MCKEE CRAFT have a good hull that ride well and keeps you surprisingly dry. No i dont have one. regards fred
