Ok, I have a new, and properly installed rectifier, and a new starting battery. Tomorrow will tell the tale as to whether or not my charging issues have been resolved!

Thanks for all the help thus far in getting this fixed!:D

Have a Great Weekend,

Re: Battery was Kaput!

Sorry for the delay in reporting back, new battery, and new rectifier - things are back to normal! Ya-Hoo!

While running @ WOT I am now getting voltage readings of 13.5-13.7, so it looks like properly securing the rectifier fixed that problem, in addition, the tach is working again - guess that loose rectifier had that whacked as well!:D

So, long story short - $25 new rectifier, $72 for new battery and I am back in business.

Thanks Again for All the Help and Suggestions!

Regards, Howard V.

Hope you get 5 years out of this battery as you did your last. And for future reference, a funny acting tach is a sign that either your rectifier is going bad or you have bad connections on the tach (or the tach is bad).
