Battery voltage question.

I forgot to change the switch to off on the boat and I drained the battery. Did not notice until two weeks later. I took the battery home put it on the charger for a day (smart charger thing). When I took the battery off it was reading 13.3 Volts. After about a week sitting in my livingroom it reads 12.7 volts. Is the battery damaged or is it good to go?

Re: Battery voltage question.

The 13.3 was a surface charge. The 12.7 is the charged voltage. Check it again in a couple of weeks to see if it's stabilizes. If so, your good to go

Re: Battery voltage question.

Get an inexpensive load tester and test it. As batteries go bad, they lose their capacity but are able to reach full charge voltage.

100 Amp 6 Volt/12 Volt Battery Load Tester

You are probably fine especially if its a deep discharge battery. Do that a couple times to a starting type battery and it will be toast though.
