Battery tray for trailer

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a metal battery tray to mount to my trailer tongue? I've got an electric winch on the trailer, and we tow the boat behind multiple vehicles. I was thinking it would be easiest to mount a battery to the tongue of the trailer so the winch will work no matter what the tow rig is. I've done some searching and haven't come up with anything. Have any suggestions?

Thanks, Mark

Re: Battery tray for trailer

Thanks for the link. I had done a search here earlier and came up with the same. I'm concerned that these are plastic trays, and wouldn't provide the support I need to mount a deep cycle battery to the square tongue (quite a bit of unsupported weight where it overhangs the tongue). I would feel better if it was metal with some support. I suppose I could break out the welder and make a trip to buy some steel to fab one up, but I would think someone would sell these pre-made. I see camping trailers with batteries mounted on front, I wonder what they use?

Thanks, Mark

Re: Battery tray for trailer

I has the same problem with a hunting trailer, so, I cut a piece of plywood the same size as the battery tray and used it as a base, worked fine. :) I also painted the wood.
