Hello guys,
I have a question that I need your help with.
I have a 1996 Wellcraft 21' with a Mercruiser 5.7 EFI. I have dual batteries on it but it seems like that batteries are dying so I am thinking of switching to a car battery since I only use the battery to start the engine. I switch everything off when the engine is off.

My question is, what Ah should I get?
I read somewhere that a Mercruiser 5.7 EFI needs 120 Ah or 650 CCA, is this true?
My battery is old and doesn't have anything written on it :grumpy:

Thanks in advance guys..

Re: Battery size

Get yourself some Interstate or Deka group 27 marine batteries. $100.00 +/-. The diff. between auto and marine is the plates inside. The marine have thicker plates

Re: Battery size

+1 on the Interstate and Marine Batts

I upgraded from the standard Interstate deep cycle 27's to the Interstate Pro ECL series group 29's - excellent batteries. Powered my lights, AMP, stereo and accessories for hours without any issues all Summer.

(I don't work for Interstate BTW - just had good luck with both the 27's and 29's)
