Have a 1967 Larson Lapline with a GMC/Chevy engine, Model# CU14D. The engine is a 120 hp, four cylinder, twin carb with a OMC Stern Drive with electric tilt. What size (group) and amp battery should I install?

Re: Battery Selection

Nobody ever complains when they DON'T run out of power... buy the biggest MARINE STARTING battery you can afford/fit in the boat.

Re: Battery Selection

Thanks for the info.....was afraid that the marine battery I have that I used with a grey marine 8 cyl engine would be overkill and possibly do some damage.

Re: Battery Selection

A decent group 24 is plenty of battery. If you sit for long periods with stereo or other battery use then up grade to group 27 (you may need a bigger box or mount.
