Battery Question

I have an onboard charger that has to charging sides. Each one runs to a single battery. I was wanting to know if I hook up an extra battery on my trolling motor side if it will charge two batteries at the same time. So I would have a 12 volt parallel system. Right now my trolling motor runs off one 12 volt and I want to make it two, but didn't know if my charger would charge two on one side. Thanks.

Most can. What charger?

Also, if you put the two batteries in series to make 24V it should as well. Again, depends on your charger.

Bruce if he puts the batteries in series and tries to run a trolling that was designed for 12 volts off of 24 volts isn't he going to trash his motor?
