Battery powered boatlifts?

I need to find a battery or solar powered hoist lift (NOT Hydraulic) to lift my Wellcraft from overhead. My dock is about 600' long, so running wire is prohibitively expensive. Any one see such a product? Thanks

I've never seen one, but alternatives would be finding another way to get power to your lift. A small generator would work. Lifts don't use a ton of power, a large inverter and battery source could do it too.

I don't know anything about boat lifts, but a deep cycle battery, a power inverter, and a solar panel would probably be the perfect solution.

Hydrolic would be an easy setup.<br /><br />....have a hydrolic dump trailer at home, car battery will lift it a dozen times with 2 tons in the back. Ran with a 12volt hydro pump. did a quick search online, you can buy most lifts for either 12v or 110v. Your better off going with a 12volt model, so don't have to worry about the power loss with an inverter, an inverter in a wet inviroment, and not to mention, having to spend $300 on a 2500 watt inverter!<br /><br />Depending on how often you need to lift the boat determins how large of a solar panel you want. OR..... run it off your deep cycle battery in your boat that obviously gets charged somewhere...

Thanks, Captian, but I can't use a hydralic lift because the bottom, York River, is very shallow wetlands mud (I can use my weight alone to muscle in a 16' piling with hardly any efort) It has to be a hoist. In fact, I already have the hardware for an overhead hoist from my manual one.

Captain: <br /><br />Here are the specs: either 115 or 230V(can be wired either way), .75 HP, 1725 RPM, capacitor start, 115V@10.8amps or 230V@5.4 amps.<br /><br />Has to lift a 300 to 40lbs boat about 10'<br /><br />Thanks

Re: Battery powered boatlifts?

I would get at least a 1800 watt inverter. RATED CONTIONOUS for 1800, and a good surge rating.<br /><br />Run it off a deep cycle. <br /><br />if the inverter and battery are to live at the dock, need to make a waterproof/secure enclosure for the setup.<br /><br />115V 10.8 amps is 1242 watts. Capacitor Startup is cool, not a huge current draw on starup, as that is what the capacitor is for. Keep in mind, this is 100 amps DC. You will need to either take the battery back to charge it, or get a solar panel. ... If going solar... 25 watt panel should be enough to keep the battery charged if you only use the lift once-twice a day....
