I installed a battery monitor about two weeks ago. It is set up to indicate the percentage of reserve capacity in my 12V cranking battery and 2 24V (Series) trolling batteries.

My trolling batteries are hardwired into an onboard Dual Pro charger which also indicates the percentage of battery charge with several red lights while charging which switches to a green light when it is fully charged. However, after completely charging my 24V series wired batteries which I believe to be at 100% as per the green light, the newly installed battery monitor only indicates an 80% charge. The batteries are deep cycle flooded cell 27 series which have two full previous seasons on them. Can I expect to get more mileage from these batteries or are the symptoms I described an indication their aging condition is unable to continue holding a full charge? Can I be hopeful to recognize finishing this season with them before making the new AGM or Optima battery investment?

Helpful thoughts appreciated.
