I have a 24 ft i/o larson, with no shore power, and not much demand for power aboard. But last season near the end I ended up with my starting battery dead/junk, so beging this season I bought brand new. I have a 2 bank system with a 1, 2 or all switch nothing special....I was told I could of burnt up my old battery because I have no isolator/combiner is this true am I in need of more components in my set up or will it be fine the way it is???? Any advice is greatly appreciated......also I prefer deep cycle baterys they last longer so when I bought new battery I bought a interstate deep cycle ....now I have 2 deep cycles (no starting) my starters new and all wiring too I have no issuse starting I was just wondering if id have any issues this way or should I just buy a new "starting" battery to use while starting thanks to all again

Re: battery isolater or combiner question

Your dual battery switch does not require an isolator or a combiner because that's what the dual battery switch does. Batteries die from age/abuse. The charging system likely had nothing to do with it. If you understand how to use the switch continue using it. If you don't understand it, let us know and we will explain it.
