Re: battery isoalator

If the orange wire you are talking about goes from the alternator output to the starter or battery 1 then that is the right wire.

Depending on where you put the isolator you could take the wire off the alternator and put on isolator battery one post. Then take a new wire the same size or one size bigger and run from the alternator to the isolator common post. Last run another wire from the isolator battery 2 post to the second battery. Again should be the same size.

A few saftey tips before you start disconnect both battery ground wires from the batteries. Also when done get some rubber connection covers to cover all the post on the back of the isolator so nothing can short out to the 12 volts connections.

When all done clean ground post and reconnect to both batteries.

Re: battery isoalator

Thank you very much you are exactly right talked to tech at sure power He said the same thing. Some of the mec alt are not the same they need a plug in harness. My concern was that when I removed the power from the back of the alt and attached to the battery 1 there was no power at alt then. When I spoke with sure power they told me to hook it exactly the way you said.My suggestion if you are doing this is to call them and give them the alt number they can look it up and tell you what you need . They have excellant tech support had to leave message for them to call back.By george they did and went out of there way to help me there number is 1 800 845 6296. Thank you for your help
