Battery Charging Dual Batteries

I have a dual battery setup with an Off, 1, Both, 2 switch. I have two questions:<br /><br />1. Can I charge the batteries with a plug in battery charger while they are still connected to the battery leads in the boat? What position should my battery switch be in?<br /><br />2. Can I charge both at the same time by connecting the charger to battery one and setting the switch to both?

You can charge the batteries with a plug-in charger while they're in the boat but you'll have to charge them seperately. Battery nr. 1 and then battery nr. 2. The reason being one battery may require more of a charge then the other and the hot battery will over-charge.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
