i got 1 battery when i charge it for about 8 to 10 hrs. it sounds like it is boiling? will this hurt the life of the battery? or do i just need to make sure it has water in it? do you need to use desiled water only? and how much and how far you go up on the batter cells with the water? top of cells or all the way to the top with water full?

Yes, boiling will reduce the life of the battery.

Yes, use distilled water - plain old tap water has too many minerals that will reduce the life of the battery, they contaminate the plates.

Fill to just above the plates, don't overfill.

Last (but not least) a boiling battery is dangerous. Batteries produce hydrogen gas (big badaboom!!), more so when boiling. That's sulfuric acid in there, it'll cause nasty burns and eye damage, not to mention your clothing.

Get a smart charger, problem solved.

I agree manual / Dumb charger even 2 amps kill a lot of batteries. Every conventional battery I have seen has a eye to tell you how full to fill with distilled water. Below the eye you will see no pattern when you look in. When it gets to the eye there will be a shape to the water. If you look closely you will see even above the eye there slots to allow gas to excape. If you fill to the top battery will force out acid when charged.
