In my current boat, I have a battery box that is held in place by a strap. In the new boat I bought, it has a battery tray. I would like to install a second battery for the radio and for a little redundancy. The location of the battery is protected from the elements.

If there is room, locate the two batteries side by side. If protected area, a battery box is not necessary. A battery tray and hold down is just fine.

Add a battery switch to add some flexibility and isolate starting battery from "house" battery drain.
