Baton Rouge fishing spot?

I am in Baton Rouge for a few days and thought I might get a line wet. Anyone have a recommendation on a close spot for some bass or crappie? No boat. I know I am throwing a bit of a hail mary here as fishing posts don't seem to have a great response time. I guess that's why it's "iboats" not ifishing."

Be sure to buy your non resident license ($5 a day), Mr. Green Jeans doesn't like people fishing without licenses and the fines are stiff.

Wow, totally forgot about this thread. Sorry guys. I actually didn't end up going, busy with family and all. Did enjoy the Bass Pro Shop so close to the house though
