Bass have BIG Ego's

I've always known this but Saturday 07-24-04 took the cake.<br />We are out Bass fishing on a calm lake about 8-9 pm.. I'm using a small repulla (sp) 3 1/2-4" long with a break in the middle.. so it wiggels real great on the surface with your pole tip up. I'm getting it hit 3-5 times per cast and we are just having fun watching this.. then when again no fish had got hooked I bring it in to cast again.. <br />There is a little Bass hooked on the top hook in the middle of the repulla! From his lip to the bottem of his tail was like 1 1/2 inches..<br /><br />That would be like me trying to take a bite out of a cow!!!! We were laughing so hard I almost didn't get him back in the water fast enough so he could grow up!

Rapalas do that, Link.<br /><br />I have occasionally caught bass on big Raps that were shorter than the lure, but never one that small!

You know they're pretty fiesty when you go back to an area where you caught 15-20. And a couple days later you catch 8-10 more that have your hook holes in thier faces.<br /><br />Big ego's, little memory.

My wife, who is not a fisher person, caught a<br />small sucker, more or less,doing the same thing. We then stopped and thru out slip bobbers and caught many suckers(some bigger and some smaller) <br /> The smallest game fish I ever caught was during ice fishin. It was a small walleye aprox. 1 1/2".<br />Thought about eatin it but figured I would get fat.

I personally believes small fish is as aggressive as they are because they don't know what good for them. Big fish (especially bass) have seen it all and are very smart about it.
