I had a set that looked like they were sealed. The underside was open though. You replaced the bulbs from the bottom of the light. You have to unplug this type when you back in the water or you will be doing this frequently. I don't have them anymore. Wished I had LED they are best.

If you have the Wesbar waterproof lights, the bulbs are sealed inside a sonicly welded plastic capsule. You have to replace the whole capsule.

These lights rarely burn out, but will suffer from broken filaments occasionally.

Does it look like this? (click link)

http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=5058

You can also buy them at larger sporting/marine stores like Cabelas, Bass pro, Gander Mtn, AND here at iboats.

If there is a rubber seal around the light, peel it apart, or pop it out

On the trailer there are outer brake lights, one on each side. Between these two brake lights, on the metal axel bar, there are two red reflectors, unlighted, and three seperate red lights. One of these lights has burned out. On the back side of the metal axel bar these lights are connected with seperate wires. They are sealed with a rubber seal. How do I replace the bulb? This is a 95 procraft trailer. Probably LED lights, but not sure. Thanks for your information.

If its one of the 3 axle lights and you don't do a lot of night towing, why worry? But I think if you just look at the side of the lens you will see tiny slots...put a flat blade screw driver in it and pop iI off, then change the bulb. But if you still have trouble why don't you hook it up and take it to a U-Haul and act like you have no clue...they will help you.

Robby6950 don't know what laws are where you are but in Oklahoma that is illegal for a brake light not to work. Highway Patrol does enforce it here. Even in the daylight. As in any state there are some that get away with it, but for safety sake I would get it working.

I said the three marker lights in the middle of the axle, which she said one is out, and which are really useless lights anyway in my book. Do you know what I'm talking about? The 3 lights required by law on certain size trailers? Anyway, do you see three little lights in the middle of cars? Are they on trailers so you can tell its a trailer? Are people that stupid they cant tell if they are following a car or boat? What would be the difference except that you are probably following too close. SIDE markers light are a different story. Anyway, go back and READ the reply again...NOWHERE did I say leave a brake light out.

Sorry to offend you, but the original quote said can anyone tell me how to replace brake light bulb on a bass boat trailer. You didn't say anything about brake light. This is what I was refering to. If its one of the 3 axle lights and you don't do a lot of night towing, why worry. Wasn't trying to cause a stink, just inform. Thats what the forum is supposed to be about anyway.
