What do you think the best way to remove them is? With the boat in the water or out and with what;scraper solvent etc.

Re: barnicles baby barnicles

I keep my boat in the water (Chesapeake Bay- Salt Water) without bottom paint for 3 weeks cycles. When I pull the boat it definately has some serious growth.

The best thing out of the water is the car wash pressure washers. Its gets all the crud off in about 10 minutes.

For in the water, I use plastic putty knives that you buy at home depot or lowes. They are the best thing, since they are plastic and won't harm the hull.

Also, another things to purchase is anti-fouling bottom wax. They sell this a westmarine for $20.00.

You just put in on with a sock and don't buff.

I did this about 3 weeks ago and when I went to clean my boat this cycle the barnicles came off A lOT QUCIKER.

Get it and put a good coat on.

Again, the little plastic putty knife scrappers are the best.
