Thanks ahead. What is the method to 'balance' the trailer/boat to my truck? Nissan Frontier (4cyl) with Reese hitch, 18' boat with 140hp OB. Maybe take it to the place I had the hitch installed?
Howdy 140.

There is a good chance that it can't be done. You need to find out how much your rig weighs and how much weight the truck is rated to tow.

Do not, under any circumstances try towing more than your truck is rated for. You can safely tow about half of the rated trailer weight without trailer brakes and about 75% of the rating with brakes.

The issue is not your truck's ability to move with the trailer behind. It is your ability to control and stop the trailer.

If your frontier is 2 wheel drive and stick shift you will not be able to pull the rig up a steep ramp.

Sorry to bear such bad news, but remember: You bet your life on that rig every time you leave the driveway.

Good luck..
