Hi fellas.
I posted yesterday with an idle problem...
I probably should have explained that the motor does idle well when warm for a period of time and then acts like it's loading up.

Anyway... I went home and set the timing proper and the dwell. The timing was out by 3-4 degrees. Then I adjusted the idle with my tach. I got it where it starts with about one crank.

BUT. I didn't realize my water hose (from the house) was on a timer. I ran out and ruined my pump. The motor did not overheat thankfully but I was kicking myself over that pump.

I don't have the service manual; but see where 6 bolts hold the lower unit on. I'm guessing this is where to begin. Would any of you mind walking me through replacing that pump?
-thanks. -br

There is a site on the web that walks you through it. Let me search...

http://www.i-boats.com/wtar_pump_repair.htm
or
http://www.brokeboats.com/newpump.html
or
http://amarket.com/f091.htm

There is a better site with drawings and photos, but I cannot find it. I think the bookmark is at home.
