I still have my little bass boat that I am restoring, but you know how that urge to fish comes around. Cruising through Craigslist the other day I came across this baby. Proline, 17' and a 90 Evinrude. I figured I'd take a look and found a pristine skiff for only $2300. To top it off, it was sitting on a 24' Aluminum tandem trailer which I sold and just about paid for the boat.

When I arrived at home, the wife took one look and said..."At least it's named correctly." :)

ezbtr - The only work I plan on is replacing the teak doors with starboard. Down the road I will install a T-Top and leaning post, but for now there is really nothing to do. The transom and floor are rock solid. The gelcoat (a little faded) is in good shape. Truth is, for a 1984 boat, I was pretty impressed with the condition.

Great looking boat! for the price I think you did real well. There are so many people on this forum looking for boats in that price range and coming up with junk. You really lucked out. Congratulations!!!

Funny how luck--timing, looking around, hunting, waiting, calling back, driving for miles, checking--ends up. I have been looking for a solid and well priced boat for about four years...SEE! They are out there! :watermelon:

Re: Bad habit

For what we do, it's perfect. I like to trailer and keep it close. I fish backwater, shallows, bay and some inshore. Rarely do I venture offshore and if so, I use a buddy with a really big boat. This was a great find, and typically as everyone knows that shops Craigslist, what you find is usually junk. Everyone that sees the boat loves it. I had a marine detailer come by the house to look at a large aluminum boat trailer I am selling. He saw the Proline and was very impressed saying the previous owner really kept it up. Yeah...happy camper!
