Just venting and I am sure I am not the only one here but man this has been a bad boating season. Got one lake trip in and two overnights on the coast so far. On one of the overnights the truck motor blew up on the drive home. Next trip is planned for the weekend of the 4th and the last time I was at the boat was memorial day. I knew it would be a bad season when the wife and I listed the house for sale. We knew it would take a lot of cycles to fix it up and keep it clean and I knew it would not be a great boating season due to the house and things going on at work but I really miss the boat. Here is to next season, hope it will be better than this one.

Boat? What is a boat? I have passed mine in the garage, but it has yet to get wet since mid January ... She is not happy! Neither am I.

We've been living on short 2 hour rides here and there. It's actually been better this year so far to go out for an hour or so after work during the week than to try to do a half day on the weekends.

I am really looking forward to leaving it at the coast. That way when we go to the boat we go to the boat. So far this year it has been lets try to make it to the lake after cleaning the house and looking at that house and doing some laundry only to run out of time.

I feel your pain...

Not to rub it in, but so far we have had about 7-8 days on the water...and we didn't even take it over memorial day weekend. I went all last year without a boat, so making up for it this year! I've said it before...We are fortunate that this is considered a problem.

The good news is there's still quite a bit of season left! I always tell the wife we need to make boating a priority, as in all reality, it's a cheap hobby (compared to snowboarding/snow skiing) and great family time!

Cheers,

~Brett

I'm not enjoying my boat as much as I should be either and it puzzles me as to why. I think it's because the boat is not the boat I want, it is the boat I settled for. The registration came up for renewal this year and I didn't even mail it in!! which should tell you how unused my boat has been. I actually cleaned and snapped shots of it to sell, so I can eventually buy the boat I want, hoping that is the issue with me. My other boat is a project and I haven't touched that one in over a year either, I need to seriously re-evaluate my priorities and get my butt back out on the water. It is my little escape from the day to day issues we all are faced with, and I miss it. I have so many fun, fond memories of boating, I just need to get my butt going and get back out on the water. I have no excuses in the end.

If you see my "Stuck Dockside" thread, my year stinks as well. Hopefully I'll make up for it next week on the South Shore of Lake Superior, however it looks like we will get rained on for a few of the days......

Been boating here in SC since early April. Only missed one weekend due to rain. A lot better than last year when it rained just about every weekend starting in June. Temps are warmer too. Staying in the 90s. No rain in a month and that is worrisome.
