Bad bearing or is the outdrive trying to engage when in neutral

No metal shavings and gear oil look new. Removed lower
Unit and could not pulled prop shaft out and bearings out. It has
A lot of salt buildup . Even broke gear puller when trying to disassemble the lower unit internals. The boat has about 180 hrs in salt water.

Update bad bearing and found a small amount of shavings when I flushed drive.
