hey Guys I rebuilt the 3.0 Mercruiser in my boat, replaced the impeller and oil in the outdrive and when I went to start it there was a backfire through the exhaust and after a couple of attempts it started and ran smooth. The problem is when I went to make sure nothing was leaking on the outdrive i noticed it was pouring water out just behind the part that mounts the outdrive to the transom, Gimble I think. The bellows don’t look or feel blown out. Any idea what it could be? also there doesn’t appear to be much water coming out in between the prop but the engine and exhaust is just warm to the touch.

I’m trying to post a pic but it says it’s too large. I don’t know how to resize it 🤷🏽‍♂️

So I guess it’s supposed to come out if that hole when idling. I ran it at various rpm and it ran fine. I’ll take it to the lake next week and see how it does
