My Dad is having stindts put in his Carated arterys?? anybody here had that, he opted to go that rout instead of the procedure where they cot your neck open and clean them out manualy. Dont know what I think about that. When they put the stindts in my ticker thats when I had my heart attact.???????????????????????

There is a chance of them knocking something loose,a buddy had 2 put in 3 weeks ago he's already back to fishing and everthing is fine.<br /> Good luck and prayers with your dad.

I would suggest using the internet to research your issue. The procedure is not as good as you think and everyone's body acts differntly. Coronary Artery Disease

Stindts in place, blockage reduced from 75% to 0%. He was laughing and acting like nothin hapen when I left. dock sait everything went smothly no complications, and go home tomorrow AM. Load off my mind. thanks for the thoughs guys.

I had that surgery a couple of years ago. Went the roto-rooter route. It was kind of a rush deal, as I had a mild stroke and both sides were effectively blocked.<br /><br />Apparently blood flow to the brain is relatively important.<br /><br />My neurologist calls me her "miracle" patient, as according to the test results before surgery, she couldn't figure out how I was walking around.<br /><br />A long time habit, I suppose.<br /><br />I have no idea which is better, whether stents or not. I'm doing fine now, and the surgeries (2 of them) was no problem recovering from--The stroke, however, was a bit bigger deal, but it is getting better.<br /><br />Good luck

My Dad had stints about 3 years ago, been much better ever since, also got a pace maker, cause his heart was slow. Glad to hear all came out well!

Kinda same here he was raring to go this morning, hes home now. they mentioned that his heart rate was slow, in the 50s said they would monitor and concider a pacemaker possibly later.

My dad had his neck opened up and had them cleand out about 7 years ago.<br /><br />Last year got a pace maker, made him a new man. His heart rate was going as low as 30's....
