I hope the links shows the picture.

I am in the process of trying to get an older Honda BF75 running.

Looking at the engine I see near the bottom of the cab is a blank, unused nipple. Is this normal? The carb has a line coming from the fuel pump into the carb so it is not that. Is this maybe for a drain?

Also, there is a black plastic thru-case fitting with a black rubber hose connected - behind the carb. The fitting looks to have 3 nipples and only the one has a hose connected. There is another hose coming from the front of the flywheel, near the recoil that is just laying in the motor pan....I am guessing this should be connected too.

Many thanks for any advise you can offer this noobie!!

Mike

That is for the float bowl drains.
Only one hose to drain one carb at a time.
To drain the remaining carbs you must disconnect the drain hose from the carb it is attached to and connect it to the next carb you want to drain.
My 2001 40hp has the identicle drain configuration.

-GF <"))))><

Hello all, I have this identical carb on my ob and am having problems with the idle. Should there be a hose connected to that? Does anyone have a service manual that they could email these pages from it to me? I'd really appreciate it. Is this the only carb on the motor? I don't understand the drain one carb at a time comment. Isn't this the only carb? I have a 77 service manual, that came with the motor, but this carb is not in the diagram. Which leads me to believe that a prior owner thought that the motor was a 77 but might be a different model? BF 75 1102257?
