Looking at the trailer tires from the back they look tilted outward at the bottom.
Do we have a cambered or strait axel?
The inside tire wear is bad. If normal why tilt out wheels on trailers?

jack up your trailer, put a hand at the top and one at the bottom, now wiggle it. if it wiggles you have a bearing problem.

Re: AXLE TYPE

Sounds like you have a bent axle, muskytroller.

Camber should be zero degrees on a trailer.

Re: AXLE TYPE

Just repacked bearings and they looked fine.
Looking at axle it seems to have ever so slight upward bend.
JB are you saying that our tires should be horizontal to the ground?

Re: AXLE TYPE

A cambered axle should have the wheels perfectly vertical or slightly tilted OUT at the top with a load. Rather than looking at the tires, stand well back of the trailer (rear) and look at the very center of the axle. If it has a slight upward bow its cambered. If its cambered and the wheels are tilted inward at the top (outward at the bottom) the axle is bent usually happens at the axle stubs). If its bowed slightly downward, its bent. If it's straight its bent and uncambered.

Do they come back straight when the boat is unloaded? If yes, your boat may be overweight for the trailer/axle. Old fiberglass/wood boat with lots of water in the foam and wood? Just another possibility. I don't know your rig at all...

Re: AXLE TYPE

Upgraded our tires from B's to C's.
The B's were Carsiles and were arched from side to side. The second tread from the inside was worn bare and the second tread from the outside was worn, just not as bad, on both tires.
The C's are flat across the tread and now the tires seem horizontal. Will keep a close eye on tread wear.
Thanks for all the help.
