So my Axle is done. it broke at the spindle hub once. i fixed it. Now its broke again and i dont think its worth the effort to try again. Now finding the axle is a pain. Its a 16ft Javelin Boat and matched trailer. 60" frame width. Looks to be 58.5 spring centers and 72.5" between hubfaces. 1.5" square tubed axle. which i feel is pretty dinky for this boat&trailer? I can't find anything on the original axle rating. if its original. but what rating am I aiming for? Ive found one that will work dimensions wise and its 2" square tube and its rated at 2200lbs. Is that enough? I know the boat weighs roughly 900lbs, no idea on the trailer though.

That sounds like it will work. Get a galvanized axle if you can they last much longer.

If you really want to upgrade, ditch the Springs and get a Torsion Axle. It is basically an Independent Suspension. I changed to a Torsion Axle in 20015, and it is a much nicer towing experience
