I'm fixing up an Avon S400 sport boat. I'm looking for the stringers that fit along each side of the floor panels under the tubes. They were missing when I got the boat.

If anyone has this model boat I'd appreciate photos of the stringers as it looks like I'll have to make some, I've struck trying to buy them.

What kind of wood is best for this? I'm not sure what Avon originally used.

It's an older boat but it holds air great and has only a few patches.

Re: Avon S400 floor parts

Remember, this is an S400, an older boat dating back to the early 80s. OEM parts aren't available any longer. For things like missing stringers, I've got to salvage some from an old boat, or get measurements of them so I can make a new set. Hence my initial request. If anyone can help out it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Don't think old stringers have varied over the new/recent model, usually stringers and side joiners remains same. Call Defender and ask them.
