Auto trim dilema....?

This is my first boat with power trim and I'm having an issue. The boat has a feature that automatically lowers the motor to maximum up trim level (not tilt)when RPMs reach 1800-2000. The manual says it's to assure the cooling inlet is below water. One of the lakes on the chain I park on has a 200 ft bolder lined channel to get to the next lake. At some times we're luck to have 20 inches of water in this area. On days when there is strong wind, low water and 2000 lbs on board I need to run over 2K RPM to get out of the channel without being blown into the rocks. Which makes the motor drop and churn some gravel.

Is anyone aware of a fix for this? Is it even possible to modify this function, or is it computer controlled?
