I just bought a 1990 Starcraft w/ a 1989 60hp ELPTO Merc. The boat has an internal fuel tank. I have heard horror stoies about AutoBlend Units and am thinking about taking off the unit that is on my boat. If I do remove it what is involed in getting rid of it other than added oil to the gas? To add the oil in the gas I was thinking about running the internal tank dry out on the lake. Then while on the water I will dissconnect the AutoBlend unit. I will carry a remote tank with premixed gas to get home and once home I will add oil-mixed gas to the internal tank. Is there anything electrical that may mess me up when removing the AutoBlend Unit out on the water? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to post anything you like or dislike Autoblend units and why in this thread so others searching can see.

Thanks

Re: Auto Blend Unit -- Keep or Remove

If you value your engine get rid of it, just unplug the unit and bypass the fuel lines around it
