Hope a audiophile can give me some advice... I have a 21' bowrider and am redoing my stereo system. New head unit (probably sony), Amp Kick 700.5, subwoofer Bazooka 8 or 10" enclosure (non-amplified). Keeping my 4 Infinity 6.5 speakers

Questions

1) Anyone have any reviews on the Bazooka 8/10" enclosures (MBT-8014 / 1014)
2) I would have like to put the 10" but doesn't fit under my seat so I am going to use the 8". How much of a sound difference will it be? I'm not a teen looking for a huge BOOMING system but do want it to sound good/complete.
3) Any other recommendations on the system?

Thanks in advance!!

Are you dead set on the Bazooka? I'm just not a big fan. Can you fit a box for a 10 under the port dash? That is where I have installed mine. Every thing else looks good though.

I would suggest if your getting a new deck to investigate the newer decks with USB ports. From what I understand you can download MP3s onto flashdrives and play them thru the deck, without having to use an iPod or MP3 player. Unforutantely, they came out right after I bought my last deck.

Re: Audio/Stereo system upgrade, recommendations

I actually wanted the Kicker SKM10 not Bazooka, but the kicker will be a tight fit, Under the port dash it won't fit because of the contour of the space. Only spot for that is under my sundeck next to the engine, the space is a perfect fit, but i'll loose some storage area. With the bazooka 8" tube i can put it under the seat and only lose 1/3 of the storage area.

I am getting a Sony head unit with the USB port, those are great, makes changing up music playist a snap...

Thanks for your help.

My recommendations are a little different. A second battery, isolator (or switch if you prefer I just feel isolators are far superior when alternator wiring is upgraded to compensate for voltage lose), and make sure you run 10awg or larger power and ground for the deck straight to the battery. The amp wiring obviously should be much larger. If you are looking for a high output 8" try Tang Band W8 but that is just the woofer.
