Ive got a question I thought someone might be able to answer. Ive got a suzuki dt25c that has a cracked intake manifold (circled below). Ive also got another good intake manifold from another powerhead of the same year and model. Would it work to mix and match these parts when rebuilding this engine to replace the cracked intake?

Thanks
J

If it were just the manifold you could probably do it, greenhead, but it isn't just a manifold, it is half the crankcase.

I think the chances of using half of a different crankcase successfully are just about zero. On most engines those pieces are machined to match.

If you look at the parts diagram you will see that item 11 points to two separate parts. That is because they are machined together. Having said that, if you can find a super reliable and accurate machine shop that might be able to measure your old intake and see if the measurements are exactly the same on the new intake. It could be possible to use it if the measurements were exactly the same.

they are all the same, I have rebuilt 2 of these motors with different blocks etc. as we use to race these .... it will be perfectly fine to replace it ....
