Hi again. How's the boating season so far? I haven't gotten wet yet - was hoping to very soon.
I need advice with a recently changed water impellor - my first attemp. It was fairly straight forward and I followed the shop manual to the letter. I replaced all flat gaskets and O ring. Did not replace the 'stiff' water seals that sorround the drive shaft. The Honda dealer told me it isnt necassary and is not part of the impellor kit.
Anyway, my dilemma is when I fired her up today, I noticed water coming from spots I do not recall noticing before. It has me worried I have done something wrong. In the figure below, the arrows indicate where water is coming from when the engine is running. The two forward locations are in fact holes in the housing so it kinda makes sense. However, water coming from behind the anode? If any other 75/90 owners would mind taking a look at their OB when they have the muffs on, I would greatly appreciate putting my worries to rest.
Thanks!
Those are cavity drains. They're there so that water that collects in certain pockets can drain out. If there's water coming from the pee hole and out the middle of the prop, you're good to go. :)

Thank you... and you are right, there is water coming out of the pee hole. But is it normal for water to collect - actually get semi-forced - out those cavity drains? Where is the water coming from? Draining from the engine block of from around the water pump housing? The drive shaft, after it goes through the water pump housing then goes through a bearing before entering the gear case. How is this bearing lubricated and can water get into it from the water pump area?
Thanks again,just overly worried.

My BF90 squirts water from weird places with the muffs on and water pressure cranked up. FWIW.

ChuckD
