Re: Attention Great Lakes Fishing buffs
MY,

A fair trade is for a lure that catches fish.. If it doesn't then I can blame you and if it works it will be based on my prowess as an angler. (who am I kidding)

Trolling for salmon, or rainbow trout, near surface lure, trolling at about 3 mph +/- 25%. 8ft medium action rods with 12-15lb test. High lines are looking at somewhere between 1-15 feet off the surface, Naked or with beadchain lead sinkers.

The salmon here are soft mouthed and like an active bait in the spring. I have seen an evolution to plugs in the past ten years, J-Plugs and even fly's up high on downriggers. I would love to try any old favorities that you have had success with. I am confident that fish can't read the packaging of todays "modern" product offerings..

FYI, I was reading somewhere that the walleye are running and I love to eat them more than life itself. Last year was good but with the drought and other influences, the catch has been down the last couple of years. My freezer needs restocking.

Give you any idea's...?
