When I was a Kid my dad was a huge fan of the pearl wobbler. When they went out of production(???) he bought a bunch of them and we still use them with success up to today.

In their day they were the hottest thing out there. Anyone still use these, and how are they working for you.

Salmon bait......

Re: Attention Great Lakes Fishing buffs

It may be a collectors item but I don't know. They were made out of mother of pearl and years ago they were more expensive than most but not outragous.

Flat spoon rounded at the ends with a single barbed hook and a swivel connection. Red dot right in the middle. (duh, just like your pic MY, I think I am losing my mind) We still use them with sucess but the charter capt.'s never talk much about them. I think they were marketed here in the states by lure jensen...

We love um. They may be old but my dad bought like 30 of them when he heard they were to be discontinued. I was just wondering if others still use them with success....

I don't have a picture available but I will try to get one of the rigs in the tackle box...

MY,

She flutters like a spoon. The ones we have don't have spinning shinners that trail in behind.

Give you one....maybe....Trade you one...Probably. ;)

Re: Attention Great Lakes Fishing buffs

MY,

A fair trade is for a lure that catches fish.. If it doesn't then I can blame you and if it works it will be based on my prowess as an angler. (who am I kidding) :p

Trolling for salmon, or rainbow trout, near surface lure, trolling at about 3 mph +/- 25%. 8ft medium action rods with 12-15lb test. High lines are looking at somewhere between 1-15 feet off the surface, Naked or with beadchain lead sinkers.

The salmon here are soft mouthed and like an active bait in the spring. I have seen an evolution to plugs in the past ten years, J-Plugs and even fly's up high on downriggers. I would love to try any old favorities that you have had success with. I am confident that fish can't read the packaging of todays "modern" product offerings.. :p

FYI, I was reading somewhere that the walleye are running and I love to eat them more than life itself. Last year was good but with the drought and other influences, the catch has been down the last couple of years. My freezer needs restocking.

Give you any idea's...? :)
