I got this email from our Bass Federation President and would like to pass it on to you guys. Please take a couple of minutes out of your day to do your part or fork out 800 bucks per year.
Potentially Catastrophic court ruling will effect every US
Boater....ACTION ALERT...contact your legislators.
A recent court ruling goes wrong and if it is NOT corrected will
require
every boat on us waters to obtain a EPA permit estimated to range from
800.00 to 2000.00 per vessel! If it is not overturned it will become
law
by September of this year. ACT NOW.
A recent court ruling targeting Ballast water on big ships to help
control
invasive species (which is needed) goes "outside the lines" and
strikes
down the existing exemption for "other" US vessels.
Attached you will find a link to an new interview done by
Boattest.com and
the President of the NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association)
Thom
Dammrich that further explains it all.

Please pass along through your system and to all clubs. Tell that to
say
that TBF opposes the courts ruling and supports "The Recreational
Boating
Act of 2007"

Yours in Service,
Robert
