I’m attempting to reassembly a 1982 25 HP Mercury. Question: Should I assemble pistons on crankshaft first or assemble the pistons in first then assemble crankshaft . I have a manual buts it’s not helping much. Thanks

on Evinrude i assemble the pistons first , slip them into the cylinders , then assembling the needle rollers to the cages ,i use assembly lube to hold the rollers in place whilst i align ne rods to the crank journal..
guessing the same approach would apply to a Mercury
