Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics?<br /><br />It Must Be The NBA or the NFL <br /><br />36 have been accused of spousal abuse<br /><br />7 have been arrested for fraud<br /><br />19 have been accused of writing bad checks<br /><br />117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses<br /><br />3 have done time for assault<br /><br />71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit<br /><br />14 have been arrested on drug-related charges<br /><br />8 have been arrested for shoplifting<br /><br />21 currently are defendants in lawsuits. and<br /><br />84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year<br /><br /><br />Can you guess which organization this is?<br /><br /><br />Give up yet?<br /><br /><br />It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.<br /><br />The same group of Idiots (who work for US) that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Doesn't surprise me really. As I was reading it, I was thinking is sounds like a very typical American company with 500 plus employees.

Simply the fact that this list was created in 1999 strips it of anything but amusement in my book. And how many of these "people" fall into more than one category? I mean are the 3 who have done time for assault part of the 36 who have been accused of spousal abuse? Or maybe 7 of the 117 who have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses, did so by being members of the 19 who have been accused of writing bad checks. Therefore they are currently are defendants in lawsuits, and consquently cannot get a credit card due to bad credit. Like Techno said, fugures don't lie, but liars figure.

goes back to why I think a two terms in congress or senate in a lifetime should be made a law, it wont happen as to many are cozied up with gravy money and pensions but it is a nice dream. it would also keep out some of the deadwood.

Yeah, and these bright brains are running or ruining our country. Not sure if I would hire them for a job with records like that. If it was sports, they still would be eligible for the Hall of Fame since they didn't gamble.
