Are these lower unit gears worn?

I got my clutch dog and fwd gear pulled today from my 89 cobra. The issue I was having was a loud thump under load in fwd gear. I tried adjusting the shift linkage first but the only helped a little.












To me they don't look bad at all,but I'm no expert.
The Rev gear/clutch dog had much more wear then the fwd gear did.

Unless I'm mistaken, doesn't the "prop end" belong to the rev gear ?

I'm trying to decide If it is worth it to buy new gears or not.

Yep, there done. Any rounding of the corners will give problems.
