I was thinking of tinting my front windshield on my Monterey, and was wondering if there are some kind of laws that would get me in trouble for doing this??? I live in Missouri..

Thanks

I dont know about laws, but I tinted mine last summer. I went with 5% limo, and I wouldnt take my boat out after dark with it on now. Its really really dark.

I tinted the front windshield of a boat once, it was great for the sunny days. It cut the glare from the water quite well. The down side you will have to stand up to navigate as it gets dark out. try it if you dont like it peel it off. make sure to find a shady spot to apply the tinting, and the windshield is cold it goes on a lot easier.

I dont think there is any law about tinting boat windows in MO. I have seen alot of boats here with tinted windows. I also googled mo laws and couldnt find anything about tinting boat windows.

No there shouldn't be any laws, Because they now sale new boats with blacked out low profile windshields.;):)

curved is easy, what you have is a deep compound curve. (curves in two directions at once) Those are a big pain in the.... Is it glass or plexi? Real glass will be somewhat easier to work with at least.

it's just the normal curve...glass..you can see it in my signature. I am not sure what these guys are talking about.

Should be fairly easy to tint the windshield. It will cost a little more because the is more waste to fit the curved glass. Guess they just don't want the business or they're not that experienced.

It is not that hard to do. You can probaly do it yourself.
Tint rolls are pretty cheap so if you mess up no big deal. As above posters said do it in a shady spot.
The best advice I can give on is...Clean the glass really well, that will make a huge impact on how it goes on and an even bigger difference for how it stays on.

Tinting windows is pretty easy. Just takes patience. I dont know where you live but try Cool Shades. They have done alot of cars for me in the past. They are in St Charles MO.

As stated above, prep is of primary importance. For a glass window, I would use a razor blade and mildly soapy water to clean it.

I tinted my own last summer. it came out alright. looks better from afar, up close and you can see several imperfections. I might even re-do it again this summer and see if i can make it better. Mine had no curves in it though. basically, i did it but it wasnt as easy as i thought. And i learned afterwards to use a heat gun in the hard to reach corners and stuff. theres some really good youtube videos on DIY auto tinting that i found at the time.
