Are the timing specs for an 1989 Mecury 150 the same as an 85 150

Ive got a shop manual it for serial C100861 and up. I have an 89 200 mariner i know its the correct manual for it. But I also have a 1985 XR2 150. Im going to remove the idle/spark advance box on it. Im going to do a full sync and link on it reset the timing. Will this manual I got work? Everything looks pretty much the same to me. Also the oil injection is already removed on this engine.

I know the timing specs that I need to shoot for. I guess what I really need to know is will the carb sync, linkage adjustments in the 89 shop manual work on the 85?
