Are the throttle and gear levers along with the cables and wires interchangeable with other outboards? I have a 63 rude big twin and looking to buy a used bigger motor, I listed the motor for sale and a guy asked if that all was included? It would be easier to leave the ones I have in there of I could, any help, thanks

The controls changed through the years, depending on horsepower. Whenever I am shopping for an engine I always want the controls that go with it. The control cables may or may not be the correct lenth depending on the lenth of the boat.

I got anEvilrude motor, manual shift,, kept my blown-up mercury single lever control box and regreted ever since ,,
nothing works properly .
Sell the motor with the controls and the buyer will thank you for it .
I will NEVER buy another used motor without cables period !!

Sell it all together and when you get a different mtr just make sure you get all the controls and the wiring harness.
