Are ski fins interchangable?

I have two seperate skis, an obrien g3 revenge, and a connely ski. The obrien ski has just a simple little plastic fin on it, where as the connely has an aluminum fin with foils on it. I would like to try the connely fin on the obrien, is this possible? I tried slipping it in, but noticed that the actualy plate that mounts to the top of the ski, does not cover the entire slit where the fin goes, as well as the fin does not fit tightly into the slit, it kind of moves back and forth. I would hate to install it in and have it off center causing the ski to pull or the open gap causing water to spray out of drag. Does it soind like i could interchange them? If not is it possible to purchase aftermarket fins? I have tried looking around but cannot seem to find just the fins.

You can purchase aftermarket fins. Why do you need to try a different fin on the O'Brien? Here's one on eBay for an O'Brien pattern:

I was just curious to try new styles etc and see what they do. Where can you find aftermarket fins? Is there like a place that might have a few selections etc?

I don't think that a G3 comes from factory with a plastic fin. Does it have some sort of alum. Fin box on the top of the ski that holds the fin blade?
