I've always known there are plenty of morons online to spend alot more than they need to on things...I sell to them all the time. But come on how, are people really this stupid? A few months ago, my fiancee wanted to get her dad a gas card as a birthday present.<br /><br />He likes to go to Wawa for gas - the nearest Wawa to here is 45 mintues away. <br /><br />Maybe people are paying a little extra to save them the trip?

I can't imagine more than 1 person on ebay being more than a couple miles from a Shell station...

The sad part is often those cards were given to family members who are in troubled times (alcohol/drug abuse, etc) and can't be given money for fear it will be spend on drugs. The recipient of the card then sells it at half price for cash to the auction holder who in turn sells it on ebay and gets full face value.

At least the shipping was cheap. <br />Seems Mark42 hit the nail on the head. A bit like folks on assistance who sell thier Food Stamp cards for cash. I've was approached by a young fellow who offered to pay for my groceries at a 30% discount if I allowed him to use his food stamp card and pay him the discounted price in cash. Since my tax dollars paid for the card it was tempting, but I didn't.

Really weird. I went through thos transactions and one of the idiot buyers actually sells them too. "I know, if I just buy more I can sell more . . ." Makes absolutely no sense to me . . .
