Have a 1991 mariner 60 hp serial number 0D054043. Had an issue with the charging a few weeks ago, and with the help of this forum determined it was probably the regulator/rectifier. according to several references i checked, mine should have had the rectifier/regulator-----but upon opening the engine up it only had a rectifier. on the one hand it saved me alot of money, but it concerns me that i can not look up the correct part by my serial number. is this a common issue?

Kem, I have always found Dougrussell.com to be 100% accurate. I would also think Mercurypartsexpress.com would also be accurate.

I agree, based on the serial number you provided I would expect that motor to have both a regulator and a rectifier:

816770T RECTIFIER (Item#16)
883072T REGULATOR-VOLTAGE (Item#39)

Are you sure that is 0D054043 and not 0B054043 ?

Those 2 parts don't work together. Either one or the other would be installed, but not both.

I suspect one of the small cables pictured (40) is an adapter from one to the other.

hope it helps
